The best GEO and AI search agencies for small businesses in 2026

The right GEO agency for a small business says in writing what it does for AI search, tells you what it costs and measures whether the assistants name you. Of the seven agencies here, Mainstreethost publishes the lowest GEO price (from $199 a month, billed annually), Thrive Internet Marketing Agency publishes month-to-month plans from $500, WebFX publishes every tier from $3,000 a month, LSEO offers a free GEO consultation, and First Page Sage and Thrive state month-to-month terms. We, Modern Mustard Seed, publish this guide and do SEO and GEO managed end to end, starting with a free audit. The options are listed A to Z, not ranked. Every fact below was read from each company's own site on October 29, 2026.

Best for a small business that wants GEO folded into its SEO

Blue Compass

An agency that sells GEO as an extension of its SEO work, "the process of tailoring digital content to appear in AI-driven search results," across Google AI Overviews and "answer engines and voice assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini, Siri or Alexa."

Strengths

  • Says it serves "small businesses and Fortune 500 companies alike."
  • Starts with an initial audit of how your audience engages with AI and large language models, then sets strategic guidance and KPIs for generative search.
  • Covers voice assistants, Siri and Alexa, as well as AI Overviews and chat assistants.

Watch for

  • Its GEO page states no price, contract term or guarantee.
  • The page describes the work in general terms and calls the agency a partner "for the long-haul," so ask what is delivered each month.

PriceNot published.

Best for a service business that wants month-to-month terms

First Page Sage

A remote agency that sells GEO with its team acting as "your content creator, list & database outreach manager, and online reputation monitor," and states, "As a remote agency, we work with businesses across the U.S."

Strengths

  • Names six elements of its GEO work: list creation and optimization, database inclusion, website authority, online review management, achievement publicization and social sentiment monitoring.
  • States "Month to month, no contracts" on its HVAC page, which describes six deliverables a month on a GEO-only campaign.
  • Lists eight case studies, seven on GEO or AI search, including a plastic surgeon whose AI recommendation share it says grew from 11% to 64% across 31 key queries.

Watch for

  • Its GEO page states no price or contract term and links to a separate cost article, so ask for a written quote.
  • Only one of its eight case studies names the client; the rest describe the client by sector.

PriceNot published on its GEO page.

Best for a business that wants a free GEO consultation first

LSEO

A search agency that sells GEO for ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Copilot, with measurement in its own LSEO AI tool. Its "Free GEO Consultation" reviews your current AI presence, your competitors and your off-site authority.

Strengths

  • The free consultation carries "No obligation" and ends with what LSEO would prioritize.
  • Names the tool and the window behind its case study: Nelson Home Group, "LSEO AI measurement, February to August 2026," with a "+399%" AI Visibility Score and 2,529 AI-referred visitors.
  • Says no agency controls independent AI platforms and so "cannot guarantee a specific citation or recommendation."

Watch for

  • Its GEO page lists no price or contract terms.
  • Its case-study results come from its own LSEO AI tool, so ask how the same numbers read in Search Console and your own analytics.

Best for the lowest published GEO price

Mainstreethost

A digital marketing agency based in Buffalo, NY that sells GEO in four monthly tiers, with a strategy that "focuses primarily on ensuring AI-friendly, structured content and accurate data." The company writes its name as one word.

Strengths

  • Publishes four GEO price points, from $199 a month, so you can plan before a call.
  • Describes GEO Essentials as "perfect for small businesses & start-ups."
  • Names six deliverables: content enhancement, schema markup, technical optimization, PowerListings for business listings, social media profiles and AI keyword research.

Watch for

  • Prices are "starting at" figures "When Billed Annually," and the page does not say which deliverables each tier includes.
  • The page states no contract terms, cancellation terms or guarantees.

PriceGEO Essentials from $199 a month, Standard from $299, Premium from $399, Custom from $999, each billed annually.

Best for SEO and GEO managed end to end by two people, with every account in your name

Modern Mustard Seed(that's us)

That's us. We are an AI product studio in Kalispell, Montana, and we do SEO and GEO for businesses in every state: the free Presence Audit first, then the site, the Google, Bing and Apple listings, the reviews and the structured data, then a monthly panel of buyer questions asked in ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity.

Strengths

  • The free Presence Audit comes first, is emailed to you and is yours to keep whether you hire us or not.
  • The monthly report shows, for each buyer question and each engine, whether your business was named, and what was named instead.
  • Every account stays in your name, and changes to what we built are included.

Watch for

  • We cannot guarantee first place on Google or in an AI answer, and our page says so.
  • Not self-serve: it starts with the audit and a conversation, and the package is agreed in writing.

Best for a business that wants SEO and AI search in one program with a client dashboard

SmartSites

An agency founded in 2011 that sells "AI Search Optimization" inside its SEO service, for ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Claude, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity, and says it serves "2,100+ client businesses in 50 states and DC."

Strengths

  • Gives every SEO client "a live Client Hub built from their own GA4, Search Console and call-tracking data."
  • Lists 30 case studies with ChatGPT traffic growth, for example Droyd at "30x more ChatGPT traffic."
  • Says it does not sell rankings: "Google warns against agencies that guarantee rankings, so we do not sell rankings."

Watch for

  • Its AI search page publishes no price. The one starting price, SEO from $2,600 a month, is stated for SEO, not for AI search.
  • A multiple such as 30x depends on the starting traffic, so ask for the numbers behind each case study.

PriceAI search: not published. SEO from $2,600 a month, per its SEO page.

Best for a business that wants AI SEO on month-to-month terms

Thrive Internet Marketing Agency

A national agency that sells AI SEO, GEO and AEO across ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Claude and Microsoft Copilot, "for businesses of any size, type or budget."

Strengths

  • States "Our AI SEO company earns your partnership through performance, not contracts."
  • Publishes "flexible month-to-month plans starting at $500" on its San Antonio AI SEO page.
  • Runs its own tracking suite, ThriveAI, which "tracks brand mentions, citations, visibility and brand sentiment across large language models," with competitor benchmarking.

Watch for

  • The $500 start is on a city page, while the contact form's lowest monthly budget option is "$2,500-$5,000 per month," so confirm the entry cost and the scope in writing.
  • Its main AI SEO page lists no price, only "affordable and flexible pricing options."

PriceMonth-to-month plans starting at $500 a month, per its San Antonio AI SEO page. Its main AI SEO page publishes no price.

Best for a business that wants every price tier published up front

WebFX

An agency that sells AI SEO on monthly plans from Bronze to Global Enterprise+, and says "Every WebFX AI SEO plan includes access to OmniSEO, our proprietary AI search optimization platform."

Strengths

  • Publishes every tier on one page: Bronze $3,000, Silver $5,250, Gold $7,500, Diamond $12,000, Platinum $23,250, Enterprise $34,500 and Enterprise+ $68,250 a month.
  • Says "If you're a local service provider focused on a handful of core services, Bronze or Silver plans may cover your needs."
  • Publishes a case study for a family-owned roofing company near Columbus, Ohio, covering SEO, local SEO and GEO, with "18.6x" revenue growth and a "94%" decrease in cost per lead.

Watch for

  • Plans start at $3,000 a month on a six-month commitment, so it is a program, not a trial.
  • It calls the table "a planning guide rather than a final quote," so get the scope of your tier in writing.

Price$3,000 to $68,250 a month by plan on a six-month commitment; Global Enterprise+ is custom.

How we picked
  • We began with fifteen agencies whose own sites sell GEO, AEO or AI search optimization and read each one's own GEO page, plus its pricing, case study and FAQ pages where they exist, on October 29, 2026. We list only what each agency publishes, and where it publishes no price or term we say so.
  • We kept the seven whose sites say they serve small, mid-sized or local businesses or businesses of any size. The others say they serve B2B software, enterprise or venture-backed brands, state no location or service area, or refused our fetch, and a company whose site refused our fetch is left out.
  • The options are listed A to Z. This is not a ranking, and the order is not a score. We never put ourselves first.
  • Modern Mustard Seed wrote this guide and does SEO and GEO. We are on the list, we say so, and every option gets the same space.

FAQ

Common questions

What is the best GEO agency for a small business?

+

There is no single best one, because the right choice depends on your budget, your term and who you want doing the work. Mainstreethost publishes the lowest GEO price, Thrive offers month-to-month plans, WebFX publishes every tier, LSEO offers a free consultation, SmartSites reports through a client dashboard built from your own analytics, and Modern Mustard Seed does SEO and GEO managed end to end by two people. See the situations above.

How much does a GEO agency cost?

+

Published on October 29, 2026: Mainstreethost GEO from $199 to $999 a month, billed annually; Thrive month-to-month plans from $500 a month on its San Antonio page; SmartSites SEO from $2,600 a month, stated for SEO and not for AI search; WebFX $3,000 to $68,250 a month by plan on a six-month commitment. Blue Compass, First Page Sage and LSEO publish no GEO price on their pages. Modern Mustard Seed quotes a set package price in writing after the free audit and a conversation.

Can a GEO agency guarantee that ChatGPT will recommend my business?

+

No. LSEO says no agency controls independent AI platforms and so "cannot guarantee a specific citation or recommendation," and SmartSites says it does not sell rankings. Google says there are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode beyond SEO best practices. A good agency tells you what it controls, such as your site, listings, pages and reviews, and measures what each engine says about you.

What should I ask a GEO agency before I sign?

+

Ask for the price and the term in writing, which engines it measures and how often it reports, what the starting numbers were behind each case study, who owns the accounts and the content it builds, and what it will not promise. An agency that guarantees a position is promising something it does not control.

Is GEO different from SEO?

+

In what you build, mostly not. Several agencies here sell GEO as part of their SEO work, and Google says SEO best practices still apply to AI Overviews. GEO adds letting the AI search crawlers in and measuring whether each assistant names you. The side by side is at modernmustardseed.com/compare/seo-vs-geo-vs-aeo.
