Built Right in Montana: A Custom Home Builder's Site, Rebuilt and Moved Home

Client: Built Right in Montana

A 36-page site for a Flathead Valley custom home builder, written around their real projects and real reviews, with a chat that answers the way the office would and every lead texted and emailed to the office the minute it lands.

Problem

Built Right in Montana has built custom homes in Northwest Montana since 1997. The work is lakefront cabins, mountain homes, and whole-home remodels on Flathead Lake. The website did not show any of it. It sat on a template platform, the platform ran the DNS, and the family could not change a sentence without filing a request.

The leads that did come in landed in one inbox and waited. A builder who answers on Tuesday loses the Monday caller to the builder who answered Monday.

Build

A new site to Carmen's designs, 36 pages, written around their real projects: the Rangers lakefront cabin, the Crystal Lake spec house, the Emde mountain home. Twelve five-star reviews run on the homepage word for word, pulled from Google and Houzz and never edited.

  • A chat that answers like the office. It knows the services, the service area and the process. It never quotes a price per square foot, never commits to a timeline and never offers financing, because the family said so in onboarding.
  • Every lead reaches the office in seconds. Site forms and the chat post to one endpoint that texts and emails the office, confirms the visitor, keeps one record per person, and ranks the lead by where they want to build.
  • Daily posting in their words. They write what they want said, drop a photo, and it goes out shaped for six feeds. We edit for each platform. We never add a fact they did not say.
  • Accessible on every page. Contrast was measured from rendered pixels, not computed styles. Fourteen hero text blocks failed WCAG. After the fix, none of 108 do.
  • The domains came home. Both names moved off the old platform's registrar and DNS, then pointed at the new site. The old addresses and the six building names they own all land on the new site.

Outcome

builtrightinmontana.com went live on 2026-09-25. Search Console is verified on the domain, the sitemap is submitted with all 36 pages, and both Google Business Profiles point at the new site.

The family owns it. The photos, the reviews and the words are theirs, and every page is plain HTML any developer can open.

Stack

A static build for the pages, so they load fast and never break. Vapi for the chat. Supabase for leads and the posting calendar. Vercel for hosting. Porkbun for the domains.

What this is, generally

A trade business with twenty-five years of good work and a website that hides it. The pattern works for any builder, remodeler or craftsman whose best proof is photos, reviews and projects: put the real work on the page, answer every visitor on the first try, and hand the family the keys.
