How a business becomes the answer on Siri, Alexa and ChatGPT, and who can do it for you
Each assistant reads a different source, so the business it names is the one whose facts are claimed and identical in every source. For Siri, start with Apple: Apple says Apple Business "puts your business in front of millions of people who use Apple Maps, Siri, and other Apple services daily," it is free to start, and "Claimed businesses get 30 percent more views." ChatGPT searches the web, and OpenAI's instruction for being eligible is to "allow OAI-Searchbot to crawl the site." Amazon's developer docs say "Alexa+ uses POI data to answer customer queries," and Yext announced in 2018 that Alexa would use Yext-powered business data. You can claim the free listings yourself, pay a listings tool to keep every source in sync (BrightLocal, Corvo, Uberall or Yext), or hire an agency (Go Fish Digital, iPullRank, LSEO, or us, Modern Mustard Seed, which publishes this guide). The options are listed A to Z, not ranked. Every fact below was read from each company's own site on November 3, 2026.

Modern Mustard Seed published this guide and is one of the options in it. The options are listed A to Z. Nothing here is ranked, and we are not first.

You want the listings, the site and the monthly check done for you, with every account in your name
We are two people, Sarah Scarano and Anthony Scarano. We claim and keep the listings, build the site the assistants read, and report each month what each one said, starting with the free Presence Audit.
Apple Business
Apple's own business account. Apple's guide says "Apple Business Connect is now Apple Business," which combines Apple Business Manager, Apple Business Essentials and Apple Business Connect in one place. You claim your location and set the place card Apple Maps shows: name, address, phone, hours, photos and the actions customers can take.
Strengths
- Apple says Apple Business "puts your business in front of millions of people who use Apple Maps, Siri, and other Apple services daily."
- Apple says "Claimed businesses get 30 percent more views."
- Free to get started, with place card customization on Apple Maps included, per its FAQ. No Apple device is needed.
- Custom actions let customers book, order or schedule from the place card, and Apple says action links raise clickthrough by 31 percent.
Watch for
- It covers Apple only. Google, Bing, Yelp and the rest each need their own listing.
- You keep it current yourself, holiday hours included.
PriceFree to get started, per Apple. Ads on Apple Maps are optional and paid, in the US and Canada.
BrightLocal
A local SEO platform sold in three monthly plans, Track, Manage and Grow, plus a Citation Builder service whose specialists handle "manually submitting to 1,000+ sites and niche directories." Its citation page names Google Business Profile, Bing, Apple Maps and Yelp as sites "which we highly recommend you include."
Strengths
- Citations are paid for once: "Pay once and own your citations for life. They stay live even if you stop using us."
- You get "full login access to every account" it builds.
- Track includes a Local AI Visibility Tracker, and Manage adds AI Insights and keeps "your business details synced and protected across key sites."
- Every plan has a free trial on its pricing page.
Watch for
- Some sites "won't publish immediately, and it can take up to 6 weeks."
- Instant updates to Google, Facebook and Apple Maps (Active Sync) come on the Manage and Grow plans; otherwise a later change costs $3.20 a listing, or $2 with bulk credits.
PriceOne location: Track $41, Manage $54, Grow $65 a month billed monthly, or $31, $40 and $49 a month billed annually. Citations from $3.20 each, $2 in bulk; data aggregator networks $30 each.
Corvo
A listings assistant for local owners whose site says "Built by Yext," and Yext's own PowerListings plans page now redirects to it. Corvo checks "your name, address, phone, website, and hours on sites like Google, Apple Maps, Bing, and Facebook," writes the fix and texts you to approve it.
Strengths
- Corvo Free is "$0 forever" and keeps your details right on Google, Apple, Bing and Facebook.
- "Nothing changes until you say yes": every fix waits for your reply by text.
- It checks "whether your name comes up" when locals ask ChatGPT or Google for a business like yours, and tells you why when it does not.
Watch for
- Wider directory reach and "Help with your business presence in AI search" are on Corvo Plus, not the free plan.
- Review replies are listed as "Coming next."
PriceCorvo Free $0. Corvo Plus $40 a month, billed monthly, with no annual plan.
Go Fish Digital
Calls itself "a generative engine optimization (GEO) and full-service digital marketing agency with 20 years in search," with offices in Raleigh, Boston, DC, Phoenix, San Diego and Jacksonville. It says "We help brands get ranked in Google and cited in AI search, ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Claude, and Perplexity, through GEO, SEO, digital PR, and paid media."
Strengths
- Offers a free GEO audit from its home page.
- Its own tool, Barracuda, is built to "Monitor and improve how you show up on ChatGPT."
- Publishes a named result: MoneyGeek clicks up 74.8% (67.5K to 118K) and impressions up 50.6%.
Watch for
- Its home page names no Apple Maps, Siri or Alexa listings work, so ask how it covers voice assistants.
- No price is published; it starts with a proposal request.
PriceNot published.

iPullRank
Calls itself a "Pioneering Enterprise and Mid-Market AI Search Agency" leading in "Relevance Engineering, GEO, Audience-Focused SEO, and Content Strategy," and sells "GEO programs across strategy, content, technical optimization, and measurement."

- Says "we've delivered $5B+ in organic search results for our clients," with case studies such as $2.4 billion in incremental revenue for one of the world's biggest banks.
- Strategy programs include "content and AI audits, keyword portfolios, strategic roadmaps, new metrics."
Watch for
- Built for enterprise and mid-market brands, by its own description, so a single-location business may sit below its range.
- Its case studies on the home page name industries, not clients, and no price is published.
PriceNot published.

LSEO
An agency that sells SEO, GEO, local SEO and ChatGPT Ads management, with its own platforms: LSEO AI to "See how your brand performs across AI-powered search and answer engines," and Mention Engine to "Get your brand into the third-party content AI frequently uses when buyers ask what to choose."
Strengths
- Mention Engine covers best-of lists, comparisons, reviews and buyer guides, with "managed placements" or "full control through the DIY marketplace."
- New managed-service advertisers can apply for one qualifying Best Of placement free, and new DIY users get a $100 marketplace credit.
- A free consultation and a free Growth Opportunity Snapshot.
Watch for
- Its home page names no Apple Maps, Siri or Alexa listings work, so ask how it covers voice assistants.
- The free placement depends on "category fit, publisher availability and editorial acceptance," and the offer "does not guarantee a specific ranking, publisher or AI recommendation."
PriceNo plan prices on its home page. The first managed Best Of placement is free for new managed-service advertisers (it states a $399 value).

Modern Mustard Seed(that's us)
That's us. We are a product studio in Kalispell, Montana, and we do SEO and GEO for businesses in every state. We claim and fill the Apple, Google and Bing listings, keep the name, address and phone identical on every listing and in the site's structured data, and let Applebot, OAI-SearchBot and the other answer engine crawlers read the site. Each month we ask ChatGPT, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Gemini the questions your customers ask and report who each one names.
Strengths
- Managed for you, end to end: listings, site, reviews and the monthly report.
- The free Presence Audit comes first and is yours to keep whether you hire us or not.
- Every account stays in your name, and changes to what we built are included.
Watch for
- We cannot guarantee that Siri, Alexa or ChatGPT will name you, and we say so.
- We are not a listings platform: a brand with hundreds of locations is better served by Yext or Uberall.
- Not self-serve: it starts with the audit and a conversation.

Uberall
A location marketing platform with "Flexible pricing for multi-location brands." Its Listings package includes "Voice Network and Optimization," duplicate suppression and profile protection, and its GEO Studio add-on lets you "Track your Share of Voice on AI."
Strengths
- Posting on Google and Apple Showcase is in its Connect plan and an add-on for the others.
- Unlimited users, a mobile app and "50+ integrations included."
- SOC 2 Type II certified, per its pricing page.
Watch for
- Its pricing page shows plans and features but no prices; you request them.
- Built for multi-location brands, so a single shop may pay for scale it does not use.
PriceNot published. Request pricing.
Yext
An "Enterprise Agentic Marketing Platform" whose Listings product "pushes verified brand data directly to 200+ publishers and LLMs in real time" and structures listings "for Google, Yelp, Apple Maps, and AI assistants like ChatGPT and Gemini." In July 2018 Yext announced that Amazon Alexa would use Yext-powered business data to answer questions about businesses in the US and nine other countries.
Strengths
- "200+ direct integrations. No aggregator." and "12M+ locations managed," per its Listings page.
- Listings Verifier checks live publisher data against your Knowledge Graph to catch errors, duplicates and overwrites.
- Shows "how your brand is cited in AI-generated answers compared to the local competition."
Watch for
- Sold to enterprise brands through a demo, with no published price. For one small business, Yext's own plans page now sends you to Corvo.
- The Alexa announcement is from 2018; ask Yext which voice assistants it sends data to today.
PriceNot published. Get a demo.
- On November 1, 2026 we asked Claude and OpenAI's Codex, both searching the web, "What company can make my business the answer when people ask Siri, Alexa and ChatGPT?" Both named Yext first, and Claude also named Uberall, LSEO, Go Fish Digital and iPullRank. We began with those five.
- On November 3, 2026 we read Apple's, Amazon's and OpenAI's own pages on how their assistants find a business, and each company's own home, product and pricing pages. We added Apple Business, the free route Apple names for Siri; BrightLocal, which Claude named that day when we asked how a business gets recommended by assistants; and Corvo, the small-business product Yext's own plans page now sends you to.
- We did not buy or test any product here. Everything is what each company publishes about itself, and where it publishes no price, we say so. We found no Amazon page that tells a single business how to claim its Alexa listing, so we quote what Amazon's developer docs say and no more.
- The options are listed A to Z. This is not a ranking, and the order is not a score. We never put ourselves first.
- Modern Mustard Seed wrote this guide and does this work for businesses. We are on the list, we say so, and every option gets the same space.

Common questions
How do I get my business on Siri?
+
Claim your location in Apple Business, which replaced Apple Business Connect, and fill in the place card: name, address, phone, hours, photos and the actions customers can take. Apple says Apple Business "puts your business in front of millions of people who use Apple Maps, Siri, and other Apple services daily," that it is free to get started, and that claimed businesses get 30 percent more views. Then keep the same name, address and phone on your website and every other listing.
Where does Alexa get information about local businesses?
+
Amazon's Alexa+ developer docs say "Alexa+ uses POI data to answer customer queries" and publish the format for submitting that data, but we found no Amazon page that tells a single business how to claim or edit its Alexa listing. Yext announced in July 2018 that Amazon Alexa would use Yext-powered business data to answer questions about businesses in the US and nine other countries. With no owner dashboard, the safe course is the same facts everywhere Alexa might read.
How does ChatGPT find a local business?
+
OpenAI says ChatGPT searches the web, "sometimes partners with other search providers," and may share your approximate location "with trusted third-party providers that help provide more local information, such as nearby business listings." Its help page links Microsoft's and Shopify's privacy policies for those providers. To be eligible, OpenAI says to "allow OAI-Searchbot to crawl the site," and it adds: "Placement is not guaranteed."
Do I need Yext to show up on Siri, Alexa and ChatGPT?
+
No. Apple Business is free and you can claim it yourself, and ChatGPT reads the open web, so a site that lets OAI-SearchBot in and listings that match everywhere are the base. Yext is built for brands with many locations; for one small business, Yext's own plans page now redirects to Corvo, built by Yext, which has a free plan. BrightLocal sells hand-built citations you own, and Uberall sells to multi-location brands.
What does it cost?
+
Published on November 3, 2026: Apple Business is free to get started; Corvo Free is $0 and Corvo Plus is $40 a month; BrightLocal for one location is $41, $54 or $65 a month billed monthly, or $31, $40 or $49 a month billed annually, with citations from $3.20 each or $2 in bulk; LSEO offers new managed-service advertisers one Best Of placement free. Yext, Uberall, Go Fish Digital and iPullRank publish no price on the pages we read, and LSEO shows no plan prices on its home page. Modern Mustard Seed quotes a set package price in writing after the free audit and a conversation.
Can anyone guarantee that Siri, Alexa or ChatGPT will name my business?
+
No. OpenAI says "Placement is not guaranteed," and LSEO says its research findings "do not mean that any individual content placement guarantees an AI citation, mention, ranking, or recommendation." What you control is whether every source has your facts right and whether the assistants can read your site. A good provider measures what each assistant says about you instead of promising what it will say.
