How do I get my business recommended by ChatGPT in Montana?

Publish one page for each exact question a buyer asks, list the business where the engines read, and measure the answers on a schedule.

Here is the result for one Montana client. On 2026-10-28, before its barndominium page existed, our audit asked ChatGPT for a barndominium builder in northwest Montana twice, and neither answer named Built Right in Montana. We published the page that day. On 2026-11-03 and again on 2026-11-04, ChatGPT’s web search, asked who builds barndominiums in northwest Montana, listed Built Right in Montana first and linked that page. That is 0 of 2 answers before and 2 of 2 after. We are not claiming the page caused it, only the order and the dates.

Their page: builtrightinmontana.com/services/barndominiums, published 2026-10-28.

A storybook Montana town among pine forests and a lake, with a golden map pin over Main Street.

Who is saying this. Built Right in Montana is our client, a custom home builder with offices in Kalispell and Eureka. We built the page and we ran the questions, so we show the dates, quote the answers and say what the result does not prove. The page is theirs and it is public.

The Order Of Events

Four events, in the order they happened.

  1. · BEFORE

The page did not exist yet.

Our audit asked ChatGPT, signed out with web search on, for a “barndominium builder Northwest Montana” twice that morning. Built Right in Montana was not named in either answer. The page returned 404 at 11:20 a.m. Mountain.

  2. · PUBLISHED

    We published the page.

It names the service, the seven towns Built Right serves, one finished Flathead Valley barndominium and the office phone, in plain sentences a crawler can read.

  3. · ASKED

    ChatGPT named them first.

Asked “Who builds barndominiums in northwest Montana?” through ChatGPT’s web search, the answer listed Built Right in Montana first, with a link to the page. Four other builders followed.

  4. · ASKED AGAIN

    Named first again.

A fresh session, the same question. Built Right in Montana was first again, with the same link. Four other builders followed, and they were not all the same four as the day before.

What The Page Carries

Four things the page says, and the four the answer repeated.

We read the live page on 2026-11-04. Each cell sets what the page says beside what ChatGPT wrote. The overlap is the part we build for every client.

01

The service

On the page

The title reads “Kalispell Barndominium Builder.” The opening says a barndominium puts the garage and the good life under one roof, and the featured build is a timber frame.

In the answer

“Custom timber-frame barndominiums combining garage/shop space with finished living quarters.”

02

The towns

On the page

A service-area list: Kalispell, Whitefish, Eureka, Columbia Falls, Bigfork, Lakeside and Polson, then Lake County and Flathead County.

In the answer

All seven towns, in the same order, in both answers.

03

A real finished job

On the page

One timber-frame barndominium shown in six captioned photographs: an 1,800 square foot garage, 1,500 square feet of living space, a loft and a bunkroom.

In the answer

“Its website features a completed Flathead timber-frame barndominium with an 1,800-square-foot garage and upstairs living space.”

04

The phone

On the page

(406) 471-5613, as a tap-to-call link in the header, in the closing call to action and in the footer.

In the answer

406-471-5613, in both answers, in the same row as the link to the page.

What This Does Not Show

One question, one engine, two days.

It is one question.
On the same two days ChatGPT also answered who is the best custom home builder in Kalispell and which builder an out-of-state buyer should use. Built Right in Montana was in none of those four answers. It was named in 2 of 6 ChatGPT answers over the two days, both on the barndominium question.
We cannot say the page caused it.
We know the order: not named before the page, named after it. ChatGPT’s answers change from one asking to the next, which is why we ask more than once and write down each answer.
Before and after were not asked the same way.
On 2026-10-28 the question was “barndominium builder Northwest Montana” in ChatGPT on the web, signed out. On 2026-11-03 and 2026-11-04 it was “Who builds barndominiums in northwest Montana?” through ChatGPT’s web search in a fresh session. The topic and the engine family match, the wording and the front door do not.
We have a gap, and only one engine.
We have no capture of this question between 2026-10-28 and 2026-11-03, so we cannot say how soon after publishing it began. We did not ask Google, Gemini or Claude the barndominium question on 2026-11-03 or 2026-11-04, so this page says nothing about them.

How We Do It For Any Business

Three jobs, done in this order.

  1. 01One page for each exact question a buyer asksThe buyer asked who builds barndominiums in northwest Montana, so the page opens with that service and carries the towns, a real finished job and the phone, in sentences on the page and in its structured data. We also check that ChatGPT’s crawlers get the whole page, not a block or a challenge.
  2. 02Listed where the engines readGoogle, Bing, Yelp and the directories each carry the same business name, phone, town and services as the page. One mismatch splits a business into two in an engine’s eyes, so we find them and fix them before anything else.
  3. 03Measured on a scheduleA fixed set of buyer questions, asked again on a calendar, with the date, who was named and which pages were cited. When an answer names someone else, we write down the pages it cited and go after a place on them.

Straight Answers

What owners ask about getting named by ChatGPT.

How do I get my business recommended by ChatGPT in Montana?

Publish one page for each exact question a buyer asks, with the service, the towns you serve, a real finished job and your phone number. Make sure the listings the engines read carry the same facts, and measure the answers on a schedule. We built Built Right in Montana’s barndominium page that way on 2026-10-28, and ChatGPT’s web search listed them first for northwest Montana barndominiums on 2026-11-03 and 2026-11-04.

Did the page make ChatGPT name Built Right in Montana?

We cannot say. We know the order: on 2026-10-28 two ChatGPT answers did not name them and the page did not exist, we published it that day, and on 2026-11-03 and 2026-11-04 ChatGPT named them first and linked it. The answers also change from one asking to the next, so we record each one.

Can you promise ChatGPT will recommend my business?

No, and nobody honest can. ChatGPT decides what it names. We build the pages and the listings so it can find, read and cite your business, then we ask it your buyers’ questions and report who it named, with the date.

How long did it take?

The first capture we hold after publishing is from 2026-11-03, six days after 2026-10-28, and Built Right in Montana was named in it. We have no capture in between, so we cannot say how soon it began.

Does this only work for home builders?

We have measured one client, a builder, so that is all we claim. The method does not depend on the trade: a buyer’s exact question, a page that answers it with a real job, the same facts in every listing, and a measurement. We tell you what we have measured for your business and what we have not.

What does it cost?

It is quoted as a set package in the conversation, with the scope and price agreed in writing before work starts. Changes to what we built are included. We do not publish prices on the site.
