The One-Person Company

We are all directors of ideas now. One person runs an entire AI product studio with a crew of Claude agents: twenty laws, forty-six skills, ten hooks, 321 memory notes, forty-plus products shipped. What changed when the agents got charters, and why I am opening the office on screen on January 26.

I run an AI product studio where I am the only one building. My husband, Anthony, runs sales and marketing. The rest of the staff is a crew of Claude agents.
That sentence used to need qualifying. It does not anymore. The studio ships client websites, voice agents, custom software and its own products. A phone agent answers the studio line. A presence agent reads our site, our listings and our reviews every week and files the fixes. A briefing lands every morning with what ran overnight and the three decisions waiting for my yes. Forty-plus products have shipped out of that office. I am the only person in it.
We are all directors of ideas now
The work left for a person is deciding what should exist and saying yes.
Everything after the yes can be done by an agent with a charter and a rule it cannot break. The research, the first draft, the build, the follow-up, the report, the second draft. Not without direction, but done, on a schedule, while I am doing something else.
That changes the job title. I used to be the builder. Now I am the director of ideas: the one who notices the thing that should exist, writes the one-page brief an agent can build from, and judges what comes back. The craft moved from typing to deciding.
Most owners I meet are halfway there and stuck. They use AI every day. They are still the bottleneck. Every request goes through them, every output gets checked by them, and the chat window closes with nothing remembered. They are prompting a tool when they could be directing a crew. The difference is not talent and it is not the model. It is the setup.
The real office, by the numbers
Here is the setup at my desk, counted, not estimated.
Twenty laws the crew obeys. Each one was written by an incident. "Contacted means a person" exists because a drip once marked a lead contacted after it sent an email, and nobody had spoken to that person. "Every dial goes through one phone library" exists because toll fraud is a real thing that happens to businesses with callback features. "Never quote a price from memory" exists because a price moved and a note did not.
Forty-six skills in daily use. A skill is a written playbook an agent loads when a job calls for it: how I write, how I quote, how I review a design, how I ship without taking the domain down. Written once, followed the same way every time.
Ten safety hooks it cannot get past. A hook is not a request. It is a wall. Email leaves through one logged sender or it does not leave. A deploy to production goes through the gate or it does not go. The wall does not care how clever the agent is.
321 memory notes it reads before it works. Each one is a true thing about the business: a client's terms, a trap we hit, a rule I set on a date. New session, same business, nothing explained twice. The rule under the rule is probe, never quote from memory. The notes say where to look. The live system says what is true.
One person at the desk. Forty-plus products shipped. That is the whole org chart.
What changed when the agents got charters and hooks
The early version of this office was one very capable assistant that could do anything a prompt allowed. Which meant I read everything it did, because anything was on the table.
Two things turned it into a staff I could leave alone.
The first was charters. Every agent got one job, written down, with the lines it cannot cross. The presence agent reads and files. It does not send. The front desk answers and books. It does not quote a custom job. The idea engine proposes and argues. It does not build until a brief is approved. A narrow agent is a trustworthy agent, and a crew of narrow agents does more than one broad one, because I stop being the checkpoint for all of it.
The second was hooks. Charters are what I asked for. Hooks are what I enforced. The moment the dangerous actions became impossible instead of discouraged, I stopped reading every line and started reading the briefing. Ten hooks bought me my mornings back.
There is a third thing, smaller, that I did not expect to matter as much as it does. The crew brings me ideas. Every week agents read the market, the reviews, the numbers and my own notes, then propose three ideas and make the case for each. I kill two. The third gets a brief and goes into Build Week: scoped Monday, live Friday, the crew doing the building. Half of the forty-plus products started as an idea I did not have.
Why I am teaching it
Every week someone asks me to build them a crew. I can take fifty of those builds this launch and no more, because the studio is still one person and a hard cap is the honest answer.
So I am teaching the method, with the office on screen.
The One-Person Company Bootcamp is three live sessions: Tuesday, February 2, Thursday, February 4 and Tuesday, February 9, 2027, 1:00 to 2:30 PM Mountain. Day 1 is the real office, live: the phone agent answering a call in front of everyone, the org chart, the twenty laws and the incidents that wrote them, the memory, the morning briefing, and what the whole thing costs a month. Day 2 splits the room by trade, builders, clinics, home services and agencies, and puts real businesses in each room on screen. Day 3, you build two agents for the business you already run, a presence agent and a front desk, and you leave with them working inside your own SeedSide office, first month included.
The difference from every other AI class is the whole point. You watch a real company run. Your own business goes on screen. You leave with agents working, not a folder of prompts.
Day 3 ends with three doors, and I say so in advance: keep building yourself, join The Operator Program for eight weeks with a cohort of 250, or have us build it. Most people will walk out with the two agents and nothing else, and that is a good outcome.
The masterclass
It all opens with a free masterclass on Tuesday, January 26, 2027 at 1:00 PM Mountain. Sixty minutes, live, from the desk that runs the studio.
It starts with a phone call to the studio line so you can hear the agent answer. Then the org chart, the laws, the memory, the briefing and the money. Then two live demos on a volunteer's business: the presence agent reading their website, and the idea engine proposing three ideas for them. Then the bootcamp, the guarantee and your questions.
If you run something that works and you are still the one everything goes through, save a seat. The replay goes to everyone who registers.
We are all directors of ideas now. Come see what that looks like from the desk.

What is a one-person company?
A business where one person decides what should exist and a crew of AI agents does the recurring work: answering the phone, reading the site and listings, following up leads, drafting reports, proposing ideas and building what gets approved. The person directs. The agents run. Modern Mustard Seed is run this way, with one person at the desk and a crew of Claude agents governed by written laws, charters, skills, memory and safety hooks.
What is The One-Person Company Bootcamp?
Three live sessions on February 2, 4 and 9, 2027, 1:00 to 2:30 PM Mountain, taught by Sarah Scarano from the desk that runs Modern Mustard Seed. Day 1 shows the real office running. Day 2 splits into trade rooms for builders, clinics, home services and agencies and puts real businesses on screen. Day 3, every attendee builds two working agents for their own business and leaves with them running in their own SeedSide office. There are three seat levels, and Sarah sends the details when you ask for one. A free masterclass opens the run on Tuesday, January 26, 2027 at 1:00 PM Mountain.
