Connector builds / Get listed in the Claude directory

Get your product into Claude’s directory.

To get listed in Anthropic’s Claude directory, you submit a remote MCP server through the developer portal at claude.ai/directory/manage, from any paid Claude plan. Every tool needs a title and a readOnlyHint or destructiveHint, authenticated services need OAuth 2.0, and you supply a docs URL, a privacy policy URL, a support contact, an icon and credentials for a fully populated test account. Anthropic scans the submission automatically and, by default, lists it as a Community connector. Some listings are later escalated to Verified review.

Nine of our tools are listed in Anthropic’s Claude directory.

The portal, step by step

Ten screens between you and a listing.

The portal walks through Connection, Tools, Listing, Use cases, Company, Authentication, Data handling, Test and launch, Compliance, and a final review. Three of them catch most teams off guard:

  • Tools: your tools sync from the live server and are grouped by their annotations. Any tool missing a title or a hint is flagged, and you fix it on the server, not in the form.
  • Listing: a name up to 100 characters, a one-liner up to 200, a description up to 2,000, and a URL slug that is permanent once published.
  • Compliance: seven acknowledgments, covering first-party API use, financial transactions, prompt injection and conversation data among others. All seven are required.

Community and Verified

What the label actually means.

A Community connector has been screened by Anthropic but not reviewed in depth. A Verified connector has had its tools tested for quality and compatibility, and shows a checkmark. There is no application for Verified: Anthropic escalates listings it flags as highly useful, automatically, and that review is slower and higher touch.

Neither label changes how a connector runs once a customer adds it. Neither one means Anthropic endorses the company behind it. A listing means people can find you in the directory, and that is the whole of what we ever claim for ours.

Done here first

We went through this ourselves.

Before I offered to do this for anyone, we did it for our own tools. The counts in the panel below come straight from the record we keep of every connector we have shipped, so they move when Anthropic’s decisions move. Every one of those submissions taught the same lesson: the server is the easy part, and the listing is won in the annotations, the error messages and the test account.

Connector Build

If you already have a working server and need it made reviewable, that is still a Connector Build: I rework it against the criteria and file both submissions.

Your customers do their real work in your product from inside the assistant they already use. Set scope, set price, quoted in the conversation, and changes to what we built are included.

Straight answers

What teams ask next.

Do we need a Team or Enterprise plan to submit?

Anthropic’s current submission page says anyone on a paid Claude plan can submit through the portal, and the same plan, role and organization rules apply to connectors and plugins.

Can a local MCP server be listed?

Not on its own. Anthropic no longer accepts local servers packaged as MCP Bundles as directory listings. A local server reaches the directory inside a plugin; a connector listing is a remote server over HTTPS.

What kinds of connectors are not accepted?

Anthropic’s review criteria rule out connectors that transfer money, cryptocurrency or other financial assets, and connectors that generate images, video or audio through AI models. The server must also call your own first-party APIs, or ones you legitimately proxy.

Does being listed mean Anthropic endorses us?

No. A listing makes your connector discoverable and gives it a review label. It is not an endorsement, and our own copy never says otherwise about ours.

One next step

Send me your API docs.

Tell me your product and where your API reference lives. I will come back with the jobs your customers would do in Claude and ChatGPT, the tools I would build, and the package that fits. Managed for you, end to end, and the code is yours.

Claude is a product of Anthropic, and ChatGPT is a product of OpenAI. Modern Mustard Seed is an independent studio and is not affiliated with or endorsed by either.
